Partners For Parks
Partners for Parks
is a volunteer program that addresses the growing need for
open space stewardship in our communities by providing
corporations and civic groups with an opportunity to learn
and apply stewardship principles. Partners for Parks
arranges customized projects to enhance federal, state,
county, municipal and other non-profit lands. These
projects not only work to enhance the condition of open
space but also act as positive team building experiences
that promote communication and teamwork among corporate
and civic volunteers.
The Land Conservancy's Partners for Parks program was
instituted in 1996, and has since completed over
285 projects,
affecting over 16,000 acres of federal, state, county,
municipal, and non-profit lands in 7 northern New Jersey
counties. More than 5000 volunteers from
60 corporations and businesses
have participated in this program.
Many awards have been bestowed
upon the Partners for Parks program such as the Take
Pride in America National Award from the US Department of
the Interior and the NJ Governor’s Volunteer Award for
Volunteer Management.
